Ethics: Treading On Thin Ice
5 Ethics hours (Live Synchronous) for Social Workers, Professional Counselors, and Marriage and Family Therapists
Common ethical violations can lead to licensing sanctions. This training will help staff understand the common mistakes made by other practitioners and the potential consequences associated with those violations. We will also discuss the ethical standards that were breached with the violations to further enhance staff’s understanding of the ethical standards of their professions. We will address ethical decision making when deciding to cross a boundary, common cognitive errors about boundary crossings, and what to do when a boundary crossing goes wrong. D. Endsley Real, MPD, LCSW, been a licensed social work for 24 years. She has supervised MSW students and those working towards advanced licensure and counseled them about ethical practice. She served on the Composite Board for 5 years and have addressed ethical concerns of practitioners, as well as specifically researching this topic.
