Typical diversity trainings focus on a list of broad cultural staples that are contained to specific regions or are quickly outdated, leaving many with the uphill battle of constantly keeping up with regularly changing norms. This seminar will look at the intersection of experience, schemas, and privilege.
Participants will take a deep dive in to the processes in which we form our biases and assumptions that inform our unconscious behavior. Upon completion, participants will have a better understanding in their gaps in cultural knowledge and how to remedy that in their consumption of news, media and literature.
